Battle Born Baseball
The Pahrump Youth Sports Battle Born Baseball Club provides athletic training and educational benefits in character and sportsmanship within the Pahrump community; promoting the development of amateur sports via club baseball. Through the hard work and dedication of a group of volunteers from your community, young men can develop their self-confidence, camaraderie, gain leadership abilities, improve their athletic skills, and represent their community and State.
The Pahrump Youth Sports Battle Born Baseball Club is comprised of young men between the ages of 9-13, who will compete locally and throughout Nevada against other competitive baseball teams. Our baseball program consists of our 10 and under team (ages 9-10), an 11 and under team (ages 9-11) and a 13 and under team (ages 11-13). All three teams will be competing in various tournaments throughout the Las Vegas Valley, including, but not limited to Empire Sporting Events, Vegas Valley Baseball and Perfect Game.
The Pahrump Youth Sports Battle Born Baseball Club is part of the Non-Profit Pahrump Youth Sports Organization, is insured through K& K insurance, and is 100% self-funded. The program relies on family fundraising, donations, and sponsorships to cover all expenses. Expenses include, but are not limited to; equipment, team insurance, uniforms, umpire fees (for scrimmages or possible home tournaments), facility fees (Town of Pahrump), and tournament fees. Our coaching staff is 100% volunteer and experienced.
PURPOSE OF THE "9-l3u Pahrump CIub Baseball" PROGRAM
The Pahrump CIub Baseball program is a low-cost youth baseball program for players and families interested in pursuing advanced baseball instruction and experiences through specialized practices, league play and tournaments. Teams will consist of a 10u, 12u and l3u team, with a maximum roster of 12 players per team. Players will be selected to play on the team based on their effort, skill and commitment level. It is possible for players to play on multiple teams depending on the number of players in the program. The purpose(s) of the program is as follows:
- Provide an opportunity for future high school athletes to practice, play, and learn together.
- Provide players an opportunity to develop their skills with an emphasis on fundamentals.
- Help to develop a positive relationship in our community through volunteer and service projects.
- Allow players to play competitive games in a competitive atmosphere.
Our purpose is NOT to chase rings, or win at all costs. We will win some, we will lose many. Most importantly, our players will learn the fundamentals of the game and many of the life lessons that come from playing the game.
COACHING OBJECTIVES
We have 5 primary coaching objectives which we believe are of equal importance:
- Help your child develop the skills necessary to be successful at this level and to prepare your child for next level.
- To have fun and have the kids develop a love for the game.
- Learn about the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and community service.
- Give positive reinforcement based on effort rather than results.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for all the kids on the team
PARENT EXPECTATIONS
Please try to get your child to practice and games on time. We know this can be difficult at times and impossible at other times, but it's really hard to conduct practice or get ready for a game when players continually miss practice show up late. If you know your child will be late or won't be able to make it to a practice or game, please let us know in advance if possible. Help out with team volunteer opportunities. We have a number of items that require parent help.
Volunteer opportunities include helping with fundraisers, and helping with rides to and from games located in Las Vegas.
Please encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game and practice. Please cheer for your child during games, but try to keep from yelling instructions to them. Remember this is their opportunity to enjoy playing in the game. Much of the fun is lost if their mom or dad is always yelling instructions.
Please let us know if you have a problem with us or something that is happening. Same holds true if your child isn't happy about something. We want to know if there is a problem right away. With this age group, very small things can cause a child to be upset. These problems can be fixed very easily if we know about them.
Safety is a primary concern for us. Unfortunately, we can't watch every child every second. If you see any situation that you believe is a safety concern, please step in and help. Make sure you follow up with us so we know what has happened.
Players must provide their own baseball pants, socks, and belt. Hats, practice shirts, and team jerseys will be provided for players at the beginning of the season.
